More Tour Details

The base complex is located on Maine's Interconnecting Trail System (the ITS) which is made up of approximately 13,000 miles of groomed trails stretching all the way to Canada. The complex is on the ITS 87 portion of this trail system. This portion extends north to the Forks and Jackman, west to the Rangeley Lakes and northeast to Moosehead Lake region (and even Baxter State Park). This trail, and the many feeder trails, simply offer hundreds and hundreds of miles of open terrain, incredible scenery, unlimited trip potential and awesome riding for all skill levels.

Your full day rental will begin with a mandatory 20 to 30 minute pre-trip orientation where a professional guide will instruct you on how to operate a snowmobile safely. Staff will also be available to help you choose the best trails for you, based on your needs, and a map will be provided. All trails are marked and range in difficulty from beginner to advanced.

Snowmobiles come with heated hand warmers, electric start and reverse. Helmets, trail maps, damage waiver release (limiting damage liability to $1,000) and a full tank of gas are included with the rental. Apparel is available for rent (bibs, jacket, boots and gloves).

As a member of the Maine Snowmobile Association, this organization adheres to all rules and guidelines set forth by the Maine Snowmobile Association and the Maine Department of Conservation.

Damage Deposit

An authorization will be placed on your credit card ($1,000 per snowmobile) when you check in for your rental.  If there are damages associated with the operation of your snowmobile rental, your credit card will be charged for damages up to $1,000.  The outfitter recommends that you do NOT use debit cards for the authorization.

Please Ride Responsibly

  • Never drink alcohol and operate a snowmobile
  • Always operate at a reasonable speed for current trail conditions. Trail enforcement details occasionally mark the trail on a curve or rise to divide the lanes and identify snowmobilers who are operating recklessly or driving to endanger. If you travel on the wrong side of the trail you may be charged with an offense.
  • Stay on the right side of the trail and park to the right in single file or stop off the edge of the groomed surface.
  • Always yield to trail grooming equipment. This equipment may be encountered on any trail at any time of day or night.
  • Do not pass another sled unless recognized and motioned to pass by the snowmobile operator ahead of you.
  • Respect the trail crews and leave the trail in good condition.
  • Never ride on plowed roads except at legal crossings.
  • Carry in, carry out ALL trash, including cigarette butts.
  • Know and obey Maine snowmobile laws.

Respect Maine Landowners

Over 95% of Maine's snowmobile trails are located on private land. Whenever you ride on a snowmobile trail, you are most likely the guest of a private landowner who has chosen to provide access. Please thank them by staying on the marked trail, observing all snowmobile laws and carrying out any and all litter.
